Welcome to Morland Parish Council

Morland Parish Council was constituted in 1894, with the passing of the Local Government Act. Minutes of those first meetings are held in bound volumes at Cumbria Archives. Today the Parish Council works in much the same way, taking care of the Parish and working with the community on projects and issues.

There are seven elected Parish Councillors, and one employee of the Parish Council, the Parish Clerk. The Council usually meet every two months, on the second Monday of January, March, May, July, September and November, with the Annual Parish Council Meeting being held in May. Extraordinary meetings may be called from time to time to address urgent issues.

All meetings are open to the general public, who are welcome to attend.
